Dr Deepak B is a valuable part of Almas Hospital - one of the best vascular surgery hospitals in Kerala, India. He is the best plastic surgeon and the best vascular surgeon in Kerala with an MBBS degree, MS (General Surgery), and M.Ch. Plastic Surgery and DNB Plastic Surgery.

He embarked on his career in 2014 as a House Surgeon at Govt. Medical College, Kozhikode. After a year, he was upgraded to a junior resident in general surgery at Govt. Medical College, Kozhikode. He committedly worked in the same institution and jumped the ranks. In 2018, he was promoted to Senior Resident (Plastic Surgery), and then to Non-Academic Senior Resident (Plastic Surgery) in 2021. He is a gold medal winner of examination conducted by Dr. Thomas Panos Memorial KPSA (Kerala Plastic Surgeon Association)  in the year of 2017.

Deepak has command over many languages including English, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tamil. Deepak is honoured for doing extensive research work. His works include “Cleft Lip and Palate with Diabetes Insipidus: Perioperative Management” published in the Journal of Cleft Lip Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies in 2021. Another work is “Plastic Surgery practice during COVID-19 times” published in the Indian Journal of Plastic Surgery. He then worked as a co-author for “It’s Not About the Destination, It’s about the Journey—Plotting 50 Years of Changing Clinical Trends in Plastic Surgery in a Public Sector Teaching Hospital” published in Indian J Plast Surg 2021.

Deepak’s thesis was based on the “Outcome Analysis of Different Surgical Options of Fingertip Injuries”. He also wrote about “Risk factors and cytohistological correlation of follicular neoplasm of thyroid”. He has presented the paper “Review of Clinical Application of Tissue Expansion” Kpsacon 2019. He also shared “Cleft Lip and Palate with Diabetes Insipidus - Discussion On Perioperative Management of a Rare Case” at the Calicut Plastic Surgery Club in December 2019.

During his tenure, he attended several conferences including KPSACON 2019 in Trivandrum and CALPLAST 2019 & 2020 in Kozhikode. He was also a part of some virtual live courses including A- Z on Anterolateral Thigh Flap 2021, and A- Z on Microvascular Anastomosis 2021. Then he attended Hand Surgery Webinar 2021, and Ganga Diabetic Foot Course 2021, and KPSACON 2022 in Calicut. His other academic engagements include a presentation for BSc Nursing Students – “Cosmetic Surgery Overview”. He attended the “Calicut Plastic Surgery Quiz Conducted for MBBS Students, in 2020”. He also joined “Calicut Plastic Surgery Club- Update On Vascular Malformations” in December 2019.

Deepak was a member of the organizing team of CALPAST 2019, CALPAST 2020, and CALPAST 2022 (Exam CME and Case Presentations). He participated in the RN Sinha Essay Competition 2019 - regenerative medicine in reconstructive surgery.
