Dr. Mithun Mani Maniyala is a highly accomplished Consultant Intensivist and Infectious Diseases Physician with over a decade of expertise in managing complex and critically ill patients. With 10 years of experience in Adult Critical Care Medicine and more than 6 years in Infectious Diseases, he brings a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to patient management. He completed his MBBS and MD in Anaesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Nagpur, followed by specialized training in Critical Care through the IDCCM at AIMS, Cochin. His strong academic foundation is complemented by vast hands-on experience across leading medical institutions. Dr. Mithun has served in multiple senior academic and clinical roles, including Assistant Professor in Anaesthesiology and Assistant Professor in Critical Care Medicine at Believers Church Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a crucial leadership role as the In-charge, Coordinator, and Chief Critical Care Physician for Category C COVID-19 patients in Palakkad District, ensuring high-quality care during one of the most challenging healthcare crises. He is an MCI-accredited teacher for DM Critical Care Medicine, an NBE-accredited teacher for DrNB Critical Care, and an ISCCM-accredited faculty member for fellowship training programs. He also contributes significantly to academic governance as the PG Academic Coordinator (MD/MS) for KUHS and as a member of the Research Committee of the Medical Education Unit (MEU) under the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Kerala. Dr. Mithun has experience managing a wide spectrum of critical care scenarios, including multiorgan failure, sepsis, advanced ventilatory support, ECMO-related care, infectious diseases, and emergency resuscitation. His expertise extends to Paediatric Critical Care Medicine, in which he practiced for 4 years earlier in his career. He has previously served as a Consultant Intensivist at several reputed hospitals, including Believers Church Medical College Hospital, KIMS, St. Thomas Hospital Chethipuzha, and Valluvanad Institute of Medical Sciences, Ottapalam. Since January 2022, Dr. Mithun has been part of Malabar Medical College Hospital, Ulliyeri, Calicut, where he continues to provide advanced, protocol-driven intensive care with a strong commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.
